Business
Challenge:

  • The client is a technology giant and the worldwide leader in software, services, and solutions. They rely on their partner organizations across the globe to promote, expand, and retain their business.
  • The client runs a Skills Initiative program to promote the sales of their cloud-based products by providing training to customers across the globe through partners. They deliver training to their customers globally through diverse channels.
  • The client sought information on the distribution of training through different time zones across the globe for a certain channel.
  • They needed a visual representation of this distribution to share it with stakeholders.
  • The view should contain time zone and region-level information about training.

TurnB Approach

Data Preparation

Training data for the specific channel was procured from the client’s internal data cube.

Mapped region and time zone-specific details related to training from multiple data sources.

Time Zone Grouping

There were 30 time zones in the data.

These time zones were grouped into 11 buckets, ranging from UTC-8 to UTC+10.

The regions belonging to each bucket were also listed.

Data Visualization

The client should get a worldwide view of training distribution across time zones.

Region information and training numbers should fit in a single view.

The geographical location of each time zone should also be conveyed; dominant languages in these time zones should be displayed as well.

Implications

A world map combined with a time zone provided the client with a global view of training distribution across different time zones.

Helped stakeholders efficiently streamline their resources across geos for driving the program.
